Scott Lawton led a concert on Berlin’s Gendarmenmarkt with Omara Portuondo and Ibrahim Ferrer, two of the stars from the Buena Vista Social Club project in Havanna. This video documents the creation of this symphonic project. To prepare for this extraordinary event, Lawton travelled twice to Havanna to prepare the orchestrations and rehearse with Omara.

For over ten years, Lawton led the Deutsches Filmorchester in Germany’s most important live televised charity concert, the José Carreras Gala. Here he collaborated with countless artists, for example, Placido Domingo, Sting, Luciano Pavarotti, Herber Grönemeyer, Paul Potts, Josh Groban, Udo Lindenberg, and many more. David Garrett was a frequent guest; here is a video of a collaboration.
